View of gates from inside , people arrived, they were allowed to keep their tickets, which were neither toen or stamped to show that they had entered. |
Many then collected pass outs, left, sold the unblemished tickets to new arrivals and used their passouts to get back in. This was a major reason why so much money was lost by the organisers even before the security operatives left ( which they did once they had been paid ) . |

Bckstage security was a bit better, but by Sunday people were able to get backstage and talk to Jerry Garcia sitting on the tailgate of an Avis truck.
