Jeff Cupit mailed me and quoth:

Just found your excellent site which brings the memories 'flooding' back.

I was 17 at the time and had hitched down from Nottingham. We didn't really know what to expect but I don't think anything could have prepared us for that weekend.

I lived on coke and those wretched hot dogs all week end. When I arrived home my lips were black and sore from all those smokey fires which burned throughout. But it was well worth the hardships.

The performance I remember most was Johnny Winter. I've not noticed anything which mentions that brother Edgar was in the band.
I've found a couple of crowd photos which are attached.

Jeff Cupit

For which many thanks Jeff and here they are for us all to enjoy. I have no idea of the precise day, or who the band onstage is -but as you can see the weather was pretty indifferent- which means it could have been almost anytime at all.....
