24-26th July 1970 Ecclesden Common. Worthing

   The news breaks of the MC5's signing for the festival. Note the mention of the possibility of the inclusion of the entire Dead -New Riders package to the line-up. Oh , that this had gone ahead, it might have secured the financial aspects of the Festival, as Deadheads far and wide would have journeyed to see this line-up  as after their success at the Hollywood Festival earlier in the year ,a large proportion of the underground scene was keen to see them perform again in the UK . Alas., this was not to be  and we were not to see them again until 1972 . The acoustic Dead line-up never did get to play in Britain and the Pranksters didn't make it over here to tour until 1999.
