THE HOLLYWOOD FESTIVAL.
Madeley, Newcastle-under-Lyme,
Staffordshire,
May 23rd and 24th 1970.

        Support Bands.

Mike Cooper. Wildmouth, Trader Horne, Titus Groan, Demon Fuzz.

I just wanted to drop you a note to say that i loved finding your page incorporating the Wildmouth picture .  It happens that the bass player (Gordon Shaw, 2nd from left in the picture posted) was my stepfather and I recall going to several gigs back in the old days, although i was very young.  The photo you posted suddenly made me recall several of the band member names; Joe on vocals, and Dirty Mick who I think was the drummer (right in the picture).

I will contact my mum and Gordon when I get back from the US.  I was inspired to look up the name Wildmouth again after visiting the EMP in seattle which has a fantastic section on Hendrix and happenings in the 60's/70's.  Just brought all those memories back :)

Once again thanks for taking the time to post the picture.  Really made my day to see them up there and know it wasnt all a hazy psychedelic dream hehehe.  If there is any surviving audio footage of them I certainly will get back to you with it.  I recall there were several master tapes knocking about when i was in my teens (i'm now 39), but i fear that there wont be much.. I know my mum has some pics of the band tho.

Best Of Regards

Nigel

The line-up on the photo from left to right is Roland Kemp, rhythm guitar, Gordon Shaw, bass guitar, Jo Hanson (Parton for the last 32 year and still singing!) vocals, Bob Ward, lead guitar and Roland Roberts, drums.

I would love to see any pics or audio tapes that may be around, so please email me!

Good to know that someone remembers us though you can’t have been more than a toddler at the time!

All the best,

Jo Parton
