The Bickershaw Programme: Mike Westbrook Band.
Hi, I was the sound engineer for Mike Westbrook at the time. I think the other members of the band included George Kahn on sax and Alan Jackson on Drums. The site was already pretty muddy on the Friday morning when Mike performed. Then there was a high dive act where a guy jumped into a small round tank of water. When he had finished he simply let the water out which flooded the audience in front of the stage. Also remember a Jaguar car getting stuck in the mud and the usual groupies hanging round the stage. We didn’t stay to see much but it was better organised than the earlier Phun City Festival where I had performed my lightshow. Thanks for bringing back the memories. Love & peace Del Trew |
