This flyer is for the festival that was never held, apparently the venue was changed to Watchfield- due to hassles about using the Windsor site .
Thus ended the brave experiment in developing the community free festivals at Windsor . Others followed, at Stonehenge, Deeply Vale and Trentishoe , but none were targeted by the police with such ferocity as at Windsor.
It was only when the regime of Margaret Thatcher decidee to crack down on the alternative community at Stonehenge, in the middle 80s that we saw clashes with the police that were as every bit as spirited as the ones at Windsor in 1974.
