The showgrounds can cater for indoor and outdoor events, but it would be a brave promoter who tried to do an outdoor show in the UK in October !

Can we get an eyewitness report, or better still a flyer, poster , pics and press accounts ?


I was just thinking about a one day event which took place at Newark, Notts in 1970 or possibly 71.The gig was held in a large marquee on the town showground.

The line up included Cochise, Indian Summer [I think!] Johnny Johnson and the Bandwagon,Hawkwind and Black Sabbath.

The Sabs failed to show unfortunately and Hawkwind closed the show.I was wondering if anyone out there remembers the event?
